Battery Adapter for 18 volt DeWalt power tools
by admin on Friday, January 20th, 2012 | 25 Comments
This battery adapter enables you to use inexpensive Ryobi batteries for all your 18 volt DeWalt power tools. This was available on ebay, however ebay pulled the listing at the request of DeWalt and their parent company, The Black & Decker Corporation. They claimed the listing violates their intellectual property rights. I disagree with this decision and will appeal through the proper channels, so please check back here for a link to the re-listing when available. After all if you bought a Ford automobile and converted it to run on natural gas, and then offered that automobile for sale, would that be a violation of intellectual property?
crazy?
stupid? idea add about 2 more lbs to the weight of the tool…FAIL
actually, i did one of? this… and it worked out good and it is NOT heavy like everybody else thinks it is. i’ve also turned 18v craftsman radio, ryobi radio and flashlight to work with 18v dewalt’s battery.
Freaky actually did make a cordless recip saw in 24 volts which came with an ac adapter that fit just like? a battery.
F-ing spellcheck dewalt not freaky?
i think its? pretty cool. The cost of the dewalt 18v battery is outrageous!

Great item…..Where can I get one…..What do I type in on? Ebay?

has anyone tried to open the ryobi? battery casing and intstall the cells in the case of the dewalt??
great for when you want to nig rig your drill and for getting in those? tight places! retrofit battery fail if you cant afford the right battery sell the tools
I know this has been a while since the guy made this; but you can get a 2 pack of 18v XRP batts for the dewalt from amazon for? 99.00 shipped. Honestly his invention is… creative; but NOT practical for the avid tool user by ANY means.
dewalt batterys are not that great people the drills are good. ryobi batterys? alright there drills just suck so bad they drain faster.
how do i make that??
terrible? invention
its hideous ?
why not just put better cells in the dewalt battery case? simpler yet and cheaper then? this
bit bulky isnt it? dewalt batteries are much, much,? MUCH better than ryobi – ryobi are crap
save money and have an arm like a body builder at? the same time!!!…
garbage.
just put the ryobi batts in the dewalt casing,? that way you can still use the dewalt charger is well.
Hello just a? questio please.
so its possible 18X2=36 V ?????
If we need an adapter, it is to use the 20V Max (18V) Dewalt Lithium Ion batteries in the older stick-battery tools. In addition, the two pack of Ryobi batteries (Junk) is actually $59. One battery is $39. A two pack of slim lithium ion? ryobi batteries is $89. And the lithium ion starter kit (shown on video) is $59, with one slim battery. Just save up the cash from all the ryobi? batteries you’ll burn through and get the Dewalt battery or better yet, get a Makita. They started this game.
Love this concept, so you? buy a Dewalt kitbox (which generally comes with 2 3.0ah batteries, and a 1hr charger. Under normal use the average 3ah battery will last nearly 1 hour. So by the time the first one depletes, the second one is charged………. I only have two hands, so in which reality would I need a modified battery housing to use a cheaper branded battery (of course Dewalt batteries are soooo expensive *cough*)
here’s one: BUY a FRICKUN CORDED DRILL and STOP? POLLUTING!!!!!
jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssz!!!!
Neat but ryobi batteries suck not only does the charge last half a dewalt but the overall life expectancy is far less despite ryobi claims. FACT one dewalt 18 volt out last three ryobi. I experienced this experiment with a used dewalt battery and New ryobi when myself and a friend built a deck with both 18 volt sets. The guy doesn’t seem to know about the two? pack of dewalt for only 99.
